MELT Method® for Fibromyalgia

The 3-month program for relaxed fascia and a more flexible body

The MELT Method®

Not every form of fascia training is suitable when you’re dealing with fibromyalgia. In fact, during first conversations with new clients, I often hear: “I have a fascia roller at home, but I never use it — it just hurts too much!”

And I completely get that. A typical hard roller, designed for regular gym users, can feel far too intense and painful when your body is already sensitive. I’ve been there myself.

That’s why I appreciate the MELT Method® so much. It works with a specially designed, extra-soft roller or small, gentle balls — and combines them with a technique that supports rather than stresses the body. These fascia movements were developed with people who have chronic conditions in mind, which makes them much kinder and more effective.

The best part? They’re simple to learn and put into practice.

In my 3-month MELT® program, I show you how you can gently loosen your fascia with the MELT Method® and feel more comfortable again.

Why are stuck fascia a problem with fibromyalgia?

Fascia are the connective tissues that surround your muscles, joints, and organs, giving them both structure and mobility. Over time, everyday stress and strain can cause fascia to stiffen or stick together — something that happens to everyone, but can be especially challenging if you’re living with fibromyalgia.

When fascia lose their flexibility, the body often feels stiff, movements become restricted, and fibromyalgia symptoms can intensify. Stuck fascia create additional tension and can heighten sensitivity to pain.

This is exactly where the MELT Method® makes a difference: it gently releases the fascia, restores mobility, and helps the body feel lighter and more at ease.

What is the MELT method®?

MELT® is a simple self-treatment technique for fascia that you can easily use at home. It helps you stay more active, flexible, and comfortable in daily life — without relying on hard rollers or painful pressure.

Movement

The important role of fascia in the body

Our connective tissue — called fascia — has key functions: it supports and protects muscles, joints, bones, and organs, while also interacting closely with the nervous system. For fascia to work well, it needs enough fluid and must remain free of adhesions.

Todo

Why fascia care matters for fibromyalgia

When fascia aren’t well hydrated or become stuck together, MELT® calls this “stuck stress.” For most people, these adhesions develop through repetitive daily movements. That stiff feeling after sitting too long or the achiness when you first get up in the morning are classic signs that fascia need more care. Left unchecked, this can contribute to long-term issues like chronic pain, fatigue, or sleep disturbances — especially for those with fibromyalgia.

It’s important to know that fascia hydration cannot be fully restored through diet and exercise alone. This is exactly where the MELT Method® comes in, supporting fluid exchange in the connective tissue.

My fascia and me

Looking back, I’m convinced that one of the main reasons I’ve never experienced the same level of intense physical pain that many others with fibromyalgia describe is my years of fascia training.

Over time, I’ve experimented with different rollers, balls, and methods, and have spent a lot of time (and money) learning more about fascia. For me, fascia training has become the hidden key to managing fibromyalgia and reducing pain.

In my MELT® program, I guide you to notice where this “stuck stress” has built up in your body. You’ll then learn how to use soft balls or the long MELT® roller to gently rehydrate your fascia, so your whole body feels better supported.

How the 3-month MELT® program is structured

  • The first four weeks focus on loosening and softening the fascia in your hands and feet using the small MELT® balls. This foundation is essential — relaxed hands and feet make all the following exercises more effective.
  • After that, we expand your practice with the MELT® roller to rehydrate and mobilize fascia throughout your whole body.
  • You can absolutely choose to work only with the balls if you prefer. But skipping the hand and foot work first makes roller exercises far less effective — building that foundation is key for lasting results.

Questions about the MELT® program?

We use the online platform ZOOM for all appointments.

Before your first session, you’ll receive a Zoom link from me that allows us to see and hear each other on camera. Please make sure you have a stable internet connection and are in a quiet space. Position your laptop or tablet so that your whole body is visible on screen.

A quick tip: if possible, keep small children and pets out of your training space. Our sessions are designed to help you relax and focus, and minimizing distractions ensures you get the full benefit from each session.

Simply schedule a free consultation through my calendar. During our conversation, we’ll discuss whether the MELT Method® and my program are a good fit for you, and we can find a convenient time for your training sessions.

For Part 1 you will need the MELT® balls. These are included in the program price and will be sent to you directly by mail.

For Part 2 you need the MELT® roller. You order this yourself, as I cannot keep a stock of this. Unfortunately, a similar roller from another manufacturer cannot be used.

You will also need a comfortable exercise mat (or carpet). I myself have been using and loving Airex* mats for many years.

You can do MELT® training even if you find other types of exercise too strenuous. For the exercises with the balls, there are variations in sitting, standing or on the mat. For the exercises with the roller, you are on the mat. Anyone can do MELT® exercises, no matter how fit or unfit they currently are.
